Russian cardiac surgeons participated in the annual Caspian Meetings conference in April 2025. The Caspian Meetings began their work with a report by a team of authors from the Voronezh Cardiac Surgery Center on the topic: "Optimization of myocardial protection methods using thermal blood cardioplegia in cardiac surgery." In their scientific work, the authors compared the results of the application of thermal cardioplegia Normacor and a foreign crystalloid cold solution in the most severe group of patients according to Sintax and Euroscore. As a result, the advantages of the Normacore-based methodology were found. In the Normacor group, the heart was much more likely to restore rhythm on its own, the need for cardiotonics was significantly reduced, ventilation time was spent less, the volume of discharge through drains in 24 hours was lower, and cognitive dysfunction was less common in patients.
