Evaluation of the effectiveness of blood cardioplegic solution (Normacor) and cardioplegia using the Calafiore method in cardiac surgery
Purpose of the study
Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of the normothermic blood solution for cardioplegia Normacor in comparison with cardioplegia using the Calafiore method during CABG.
Postoperative left ventricular ejection fraction values showed insignificant differences between groups
In the Normacor group, the postoperative left ventricular ejection fraction was 0.45±0.03, in the Calafiore group - 0.43±0.04.
The need for inotropic support did not differ significantly between groups
The frequency of use of inotropic drugs in the Normacor group (23%) was similar to that in the Calafiore group (29%).
The incidence of postoperative atrial fibrillation was comparable in both groups
The incidence of postoperative atrial fibrillation in the Normacor group was 13%, in the Calafiore group - 15%.
The duration of heart rhythm recovery was similar in both groups
The time of heart rhythm recovery did not differ significantly in the Normacor group (101±13 sec.) and in the Calafiore group (96±23.7 sec.).
Conclusion
Cardioplegia with Normacor solution provides effective myocardial protection during CABG surgery and is comparable to cardioplegia using the Calafiore method, known for its cardioprotective properties.
